Day one India!

Yo! We arrived India late last nigth, with a tonn of luggage. The hotel was nice, and the service was great! Exhausted from the long flight we fell asleep right away. Early next morning we were ready to hit the city! We started off visiting the Gateway of India. It is a big monument located on the waterfront south in Mumbai.

Later we went to a huge temple called Jain temple. It was beautifully decorated and the entrance was flanked by two stone elephants. From there we took the ferry to the Elephanta caves. It is about one hour from the mainland, and is a complex of shiva temples in caves! It was declared a World Heritage site in 1987. We got a tip about not to carry food in the area, because the huge monkey population would come after us. But of course Sunniva had to bring a donut into the temple, and four monkeys followed us everywhere we went!

After we escaped the monkeys, we went back to the hotel and ate a nice dinner. Now we are going to bed to be ready for what tomorrow might bring.
Goodnight, sleep tight!
